Sequitor Edge Rapid City

Sequitor Edge is planning a new Tier III edge data center facility in Rapid City, South Dakota. The greenfield development will be located on a 10-acre site within the Black Hills Industrial Center. The facility is designed to offer hyper-personalized services, bringing digital infrastructure closer to end-users in high-growth but underserved markets.

The initial phase of the data center will reportedly offer 2MW of power across 30,000 sq ft and is expandable to 10MW. It will utilize a closed-loop cooling system. Unlike hyperscale data centers, Sequitor Edge focuses on smaller, decentralized facilities that reduce latency by processing data locally. The company, founded in 2024, aims to strengthen Rapid City's ability to support data-driven industries and foster economic growth. Groundbreaking is anticipated this summer, with construction expected to take approximately 14 months.
