Lost River Data Center

The Lost River Data Center (LRDC) is a Tier II co-location facility within Western Kentucky University's Center for Research and Development. This joint venture between BGMU Fiber and WKU provides businesses with a secure site for housing servers and critical data. The LRDC features redundant UPS systems, dual generators, and cooling towers for uninterrupted operations.

Security at the LRDC includes 24/7 access control, remotely monitored security cameras, and waterless fire suppression systems. The facility offers full, half, and quarter cabinet options to meet various business needs. Additionally, the LRDC houses WKU's High Performance Computing Center (HPCC), which includes advanced computing clusters and substantial storage.

The HPCC at the LRDC supports research and economic development, fostering public-private collaborations. With its green technology design, the HPCC offers powerful research and data support tools, making it an invaluable resource for WKU, other universities, and industries nationwide.
