Cordova Electric Data Center

The Greensparc Cordova Electric Data Center is a 150-kW modular facility situated at the Humpback Creek Hydroelectric Facility in Cordova, Alaska. Deployed in partnership with Cordova Electric Cooperative (CEC) and operational since spring 2024, this data center provides a sustainable and efficient alternative to conventional data infrastructure.

Powered and cooled exclusively by renewable hydroelectric energy, the facility operates at 100% carbon-free capacity. This edge computing solution is designed to bring critical data processing and cloud services closer to remote communities, mitigating issues such as limited accessibility and weather-related disruptions.

The data center's objectives include fostering growth in sectors like healthcare, education, and employment, thereby bridging the digital divide and supporting the economic diversification of local areas. Its compact design, contained within two cabinets, showcases advancements in reducing computing footprint and integrating seamlessly with renewable energy systems.
