A significant new data center campus, named Somerset Data Centre, is proposed for land at Horsey, north of Bridgwater in Somerset, United Kingdom. The project, filed by Express Distribution Park via Lichfields, has received a positive initial screening opinion from Somerset Council for an Environmental Impact Assessment. The proposed campus is planned to span 130 hectares, encompassing multiple buildings with a total area of 250,000 sqm (2.69 million sq ft). If fully developed, it could deliver up to 500MW of power capacity, positioning it as one of the largest data centers in the UK. The site is situated west of the M5 motorway and adjacent to a solar farm.
