Digital Realty is developing its sixth data center in Marseille, France, named MRS6, located in Bouc-Bel-Air. This facility will be established by converting a 26,000 sqm warehouse, formerly used by Decathlon for logistics, into a state-of-the-art data center. The project, first announced in 2023, is designed to offer a significant 50MW capacity and will feature seven distinct data halls. To support demanding workloads, such as AI, each server rack will be capable of handling 120kW. A new high-voltage power supply, drawing 225,000 volts from RTE's Realtor substation in Cabriès, will be installed. Digital Realty plans to commence construction shortly, with the aim of bringing the data center online by 2028. The project has received municipal approval following a public inquiry, marking the transformation of a former industrial site into a critical digital infrastructure hub.
